Yves Jego was born in Besançon in 1961, where he studied public law. A lawyer by profession, he became involved in politics from a young age, but he is primarily known as a man of action.
Elected mayor of Montereau in 1995 at the age of 34, he went on to have a comprehensive political career, including serving in the government in 2008 as Minister of Overseas Territories and later becoming Vice President of the National Assembly in France.
In 2011, he founded the association that carries the Origine France Garantie certification and became involved in the development of second-chance schools. A tireless advocate for “Made in France,” he visits factories and defends threatened crafts against outsourcing.
Having voluntarily left politics in 2018, he became a lecturer at the Catholic Institute of Paris and was a leader of a start-up that became a unicorn in the field of electricity storage, then was appointed general delegate of the health group AVEC. He is now a consultant and secretary general of the World Impact Summit (WIS) and president of the Forum of Local Elected Officials for the Environment (FOR.E.L.E).
A father of two boys, he is also the author of novels and essays and a columnist in the magazine Eco Réseau Business and a speaker.
